Angena Sathiamoorthy is a board certified Nurse Practitioner, who graduated from York University with a Masters of Science in Nursing with a speciality in Primary Health Care. She has been in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario since she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 2015. Her experience and expertise various across all aspects of healthcare and across the lifespan. She started her career specializing in neurology, neurosurgery, stroke, then expanded to acute care medicine, vaccine clinics, and finally since 2020 has been working as a labour and delivery nurse. She has not only practiced in Kingston, Markham, and Scarborough, but also in British Columbia. She has a keen interest in women’s health, which is inclusive of everything from contraceptive care, gynaecological exams, prenatal care, to managing menopause. As a Nurse Practitioner she has the additional education and nursing experience, which enables her to autonomously diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, prescribe medications, and perform medical procedures. Angena strives to provide holistic care and treat the whole person by addressing needs relating to a person’s physical and mental health, gathering medical history, focusing on how an illness affects a person’s life and family, offering ways for a person to lead a healthy life, and teaching patients how to manage chronic illness. Angena’s goal as a Nurse Practitioner is to provide consistent and comprehensive primary health care to those in need. Angena aspires for her services to help improve access to health care and bridge the gap in health care needs.
